Administrators say OU is probably looking at a 7 percent cut for next fiscal year
if the president accepts spending recommendations from the Budget Planning Council. Without the cuts
the university would face a $15.7 million deficit.
Ohio University administrators are planning for potential budget cuts for the next two years - between 5 percent and 10 percent for 2011 and up to 15 percent for 2012
depending on federal and state funding.
The projections for next year assume a 3.5 percent tuition increase for undergraduates
but no increase in graduate tuition.
A 7 percent cut next year would not affect all units equally - some units would likely face deeper cuts
