After issuing two crime alerts for rape over the course of two days, the Ohio University Police Department has fielded its third report of alleged rape this week.
At approximately 2:47 p.m. Friday, a female reported unwanted sexual contact with a known male in Bryan Hall, according to the police report. The contact has been classified as rape.
The report was released in the department’s log of weekend activity, following two consecutive days in which the department issued crime alerts for alleged incidents of rape, both occurring Sunday morning. All three cases are under investigation.
At approximately 6:20 p.m. Sunday, a female reported she had been raped in her Ryors Hall dorm room by an unknown male at 3 a.m. the same day. The woman alleged that after meeting the suspect on West Union Street, the two walked back to her room where she fell asleep. The woman woke up to find the suspect engaging in sexual contact with her without her consent.
The suspect is described as a white male with “long blonde wavy hair” and wearing a white hooded sweatshirt.
At about 5 a.m. Sunday, another female reported having been raped by a man in her Armbruster House dorm room. The male was described as having short, dark hair and wearing khaki pants and a grey hooded sweatshirt.
Campus-wide crime alerts were issued for both incidents. OUPD issues crime alerts when an incident poses a threat to students, faculty or staff, according to the department’s website.
