Bobcats, get ready to "Shake It" because Metro Station is coming to campus.
Metro Station, known for its hit song “Shake It,” which peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, will perform at this year’s #TBT concert. The concert is a collaboration between University Program Council and Black Student Cultural Programming Board.
The concert will take place on South Beach on April 21 at 6 p.m. Other activities will begin at 5 p.m.
Alexa Pressman, the live entertainment executive for UPC, said she wanted to bring a “middle-school” throwback this year and preferred a band instead of a single artist, so that’s how UPC decided on Metro Station. Because of the way people reacted to the announcement on Twitter, it seems like many are excited about the pop-punk band coming to Athens.
